The silver dial on this 1972 example here is in excellent condition, its surface clean and coherent, the charcoal gray minute recorder subdial and inner tachymeter bezel providing a layered visual depth that the Carrera’s open layout makes immediately legible. The hour markers and hands have aged to a warm, even cream — tritium lume developed in matching tone throughout, the kind of coherent patina that only arrives when a watch has been left entirely to itself. The orange chronograph sweeps hand gives it a splash of color. The unpolished C-shape case retains its sharp geometry throughout, preserved with normal signs of wear and no intervention. On a period stainless steel beads of rice bracelet, unsigned, entirely correct in character for the reference and the era.
A Carrera Automatic with its geometry intact and its patina earned — the way Jack Heuer intended it to be worn.
